About the Trust

The LSA Charitable Trust is registered as a Charity in England and Wales (No. 803671).

The Charitable Objectives of the LSA Charitable Trust are:

  • The relief of poverty for former members, employees and tenants of the Land Settlement Association Limited
  • The advancement of education in the field of horticulture and agriculture

The interests of the Trust are underpinned by its values, informed by its history:

  • focused upon fresh produce and market gardening;
  • fostering social enterprise, and cooperative models of operation;
  • concerned to align social value with commercial viability;
  • interested in fostering quality horticulture and innovation

The Trust has recently reviewed its activities, and (alongside its continuing concern for poverty relief) has initiated a longer-term partnership basis to its funding. As a consequence, the Trust is not currently considering applications for small grants.
